The Archaeology of Kurkur Oasis, Nuq‘ Maneih, and the Sinn el-Kiddab

John Coleman Darnell and Deborah Darnell have provided a good summary of some of their work in the Yale Toshka Desert Survey.  The Survey is looking for evidence of activity in both Predynastic and Pharaonic periods.  The above summary is accompanied by plenty of photographs, maps and diagrams, plus a good bibliography.   The results described are fascinating, and the survey has produced a good overview of where the main concentrations of archaeological remains are to be found.  It was particularly good to see a good description of the Predynastic remains.
